[edit] the four m's
[edit] macchina (the machine)
[edit] miscela (the blend of coffee)
all their coffe is locally roasted. i think all of it is roasted either in silver springs maryland or one of their other roasting plants nearby. the plus of the coffee is that it is fresh. there is always a strong aroma coming from it. the negative, is if you are like me and like bold dark roasts, dont go here. most of their coffees in my opion are very mild and weak. i use a press and find i need to add another minute or two of brewing just to get something respectable.
[edit] macinadosatore (the grind and dose)
little care was taken in preparing a shot of espresso. the grinder was sitting there already full of grounds and less than a full portafilter was dosed out. the tamping job was poor.
[edit] mano (the barista or operator)
so i will say that these people actually have a few real baristas which is rare. even if they dont have a love for coffee, i went here and got a nice feather in the top of my latte. i think this says a lot in this day and age.
[edit] espresso
they always use light roasts for their espressos. i dont know what goes into their espresso suave but it is pretty mild like all their coffees. since training is low, expect the whole gamut. you might get something that looks like a ristretto, and you might get a lungo (sp?). who knows.
