[edit] general

The Blue Rock Shoot is the epitomy of the social coffeehouse. You are as likely to find people discussing politics as the latest fashions. They style of the place is so perfectly suited to the partially wooded Saratoga that you will find it hard to believe that it only opened in March of 1996.

[edit] contact

[edit] atmosphere

There is, of course, the requisite free wi-fi access for the laptop toting techies and students of Silicon Valley, and ample outlets to connect to. You may feel left out if you don't own a PowerBook, but don't let that deter you. The downstairs patio is the place on a warm summer day, and the artificial stream running by adds a pleasant backdrop to your conversation.

[edit] the four m's

[edit] macchina (the machine)

[edit] miscela (the blend of coffee)

They get the beans from Barefoot Coffee Roasters in Santa Clara, so you can rest assured that the coffee is fresh, and properly roasted (Andy at BCR is obsessive when it comes to quality control). I highly recommend the Sumatra Gayoland blend for drip coffee, as it is quite possibly the best I've ever tasted.

[edit] macinadosatore (the grind and dose)

[edit] mano (the barista or operator)

The baristi here are friendly, and able when it comes to pouring a good cup. Don't expect artistic looking drinks, but they do brew excellent drip and produce a mean White Chocolate Mocha. The sandwhiches, cookies and muffins are all excellent.

[edit] espresso

[edit] cappa

[edit] other drinks

Cheapest bottled beers in Saratoga. A Guinness Stout goes good while listening to live music on a Sunday evening.
